One case of measles has been confirmed at Plano West Senior High School, according to Collin County health officials. People who may have been exposed, even those who are vaccinated against measles, should monitor for symptoms of the disease — rash, fever, cough, runny nose and eye redness — until Sept. 6, officials said.
More than 56,000 Texas students from kindergarten to 12th grade were unvaccinated in the 2017-18 school year, about 4,000 more than the previous year, the Department of State Health Services reported. This will keep rising because of parents who choose to NOT vaccinate their child.
